 About Us...

The Idaho City Community Club was established in 1948 to organize community events and support education. The Club awards scholarships to local students and donates flowers to the graduating class of the Idaho City High School each year. Club members sponsor the costume judging contest and cook free hot dogs for the kids who visit the Spook House at Halloween. During the holiday season, the Idaho City Community Club organizes a food drive and teams up with other community organizations to provide food baskets to anyone in the community who needs a helping hand through the holidays. Club also sponsors the community Christmas Lighting Contest each year and provides emergency funds for local disasters.  Club members organize several fund raising events during the year to raise money for the scholarship funds, the community disaster fund, and several club-sponsored community events such as:

Valentine’s Tea -  On the 14th of February the Community Club says “THANKS” to everyone in the community for their support. Club members serve sweets and beverages to all who stop in from noon until 4:00 PM. The location of the Tea is posted on community bulletin boards and in the Idaho World each year.

Pinochle (Card Parties) - The Idaho City Community Club sponsors Pinochle card parties during the Winter months starting in January until the first weekend in May. The parties are set up in the Fire Station meeting room at 7:00 PM every other Saturday night. Each player pays $2.00 to play for the evening. The money pays for the prizes given away during the evening.

Easter Egg Hunt - The Idaho City Community Club and the Idaho City Arts Council (ICAC) work together to organize a community Easter Egg Hunt each year. ICAC invites school kids to the Community Center for after school egg coloring and decorating. Community Club members oversee egg collection and distribution and organize the Saturday morning hunts at various locations around town.

Santa at the School - The jolly man visits the Basin Elementary school right before the Christmas holiday and hands out sacks of candy and fruit provided by the Idaho City Community Club.

The Idaho City Community Club meets at the Basin Community Health Center at 7:30 PM on the first Thursday evening of each month from September through June. Our meetings are open to the public and we invite you to come join us anytime.
